Adirondack Climate Stories
Joseph Dumoulin shared his climate story at the 2017 Youth Climate Summit in Tupper Lake, New York. Have a listen to his fascinating account of growing up in Rouses Point, New York where he played hockey on backyard ponds. Joseph reflects on his love of winter, ice, and hockey, and how these are threatened by the changing climate.
In spring 2017, students in Bethany Garretson's Environmental History Class at Paul Smith's College took part in a Climate Stories Project educational workshop and created a short documentary film about the impacts of global warming in the Adirondacks of upstate New York. The students recorded interviews of Adirondack residents speaking about their love for their region and their responses to how it is being affected by climate change. Great work!
Paul Smith's College Instructor Bethany Garretson reflects on the impact of the workshop on her class and students.
